Saving one of many world’s rarest toads from extinction


The harlequin toad has been efficiently bred in captivity for the primary time exterior its native Panama. The three-year undertaking has been a collaboration between Panama Wildlife Charity PWCC, Manchester Museum, and the College of Drugs, Biology and Well being on the College of Manchester within the UK. This breeding programme may present a security web for the toads, that are at risk of extinction, as they may very well be bred in captivity and reintroduced into the wild.
