Nationwide safety regulation: Mass arrests in Hong Kong ‘over major vote’

An alliance of opposition events ran independently organised primaries in July to find out which of their candidates would have the most effective probabilities in September’s election for the Legislative Council, Hong Kong’s parliament. The September election was later postponed, with officers citing considerations over the pandemic as the rationale for the delay.
