Ethiopia’s Tigray disaster: How a soldier survived an 11-hour gun battle

I used to be at a camp close to Adigrat metropolis, close to the border with Eritrea. At round 23.30 on 3 November, I, and different troopers, acquired textual content messages from our comrades on the base in Agula city – about 30km (18 miles) north-east of the Tigray capital, Mekelle – saying: “We’re surrounded. In the event you can come and rescue us, come.”
